Recently the spiritual successor to Mario Paint and the awesome 30th anniversary gift to Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Maker was released worldwide and as expected it was a big hit despite its flaws like 6 types of stages, unlocking most stage parts through daily playing and lacking slopes and checkpoints but aside from those things, it's worth 60 dollars for any Mario fan. You have 4 kinds of game styles to choose from such as the original SMB with a few additional features from later titles to improve the game play like later enemies and power ups that give you floaty jumps and bad traction and my personal favorite, Mario dressing up ad other characters including alternative versions of him even though it's a cosmetic change unfortunately but eh. SMB3 has the p meter and super leaf as well as the Goomba shoe for this and SMB. SMW has Yoshi and the cape while NSMBU also has Yoshi but Propeller Mario instead. Enemies appear in all styles (most at best) but as you play, you'll unlock new ways to make the game interesting. Overall, it's an awesome gift to Mario and here's to a continuing future and Nintendo having a new president that will hopefully continue leading the company in the right direction where the late and great Iwata left off.

However, I was surprised that a few days after this game was released, a stage based on this game was announced as DLC for Smash Bros 4 (and 5 since Sakurai said that the Wii U version is technically the fifth installment) and despite it being ANOTHER Mario stage, I'm hyped for it. It is an interesting stage as it transforms into different styles of the over world. Both games will get a taste of the 8 bit original, SMB3 which hasn't gotten a stage until now, the 16 bit SMW, and NSMBU which hasn't appear the 3ds game. However, this stage has different layouts every time you battle and there are features that don't appear in SMM like slopes and lava in the over world rather than the castle. Could this be a sign of future updates for SMM? And DLC for stage themes, enemies and costumes? Time will tell but here's some potential choices for the stage BGM. I hope the official choices are good.
